National Police Checks - New Legal Entity Customers
For Organisations Submitting National Police Checks On Behalf Of Others
Cited currently enables organisations to submit requests for Nationally Coordinated Police Checks (NPC’s) 3 different ways:
- By emailing an invitation to an Individual for them to complete the application;
- By generating a URL link to be emailed or put on a website for an Individual to complete the application; and
- By enabling Organisations to submit the application on behalf of others.
To be able to access the third option the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) requires that we collect specific information from you before you can be approved for submission using option 3.
The ACIC requirements are as follows:
- Organisations are not allowed to submit applications on behalf of others without prior approval by the ACIC. This approval is a once-off process and will take between 1-5 days.
- As part of that approval, we are required to collect your organisational Privacy Statement
- Your organisation will need to agree to the terms of use for a Legal Entity Customer
- When you are approved as an Organisation and subsequently submit the requests, you will be required to provide details of the identity documents used in the ID process e.g. License numbers, Passport numbers etc.
All accredited Police Check providers who offer process 3 described above are required to apply these changes. Failure to comply can result in the withdrawal of the “Approved” status for your organisation to submit on behalf of others – via all accredited providers, not just Cited.
Please note: The invitation process in Cited using direct email or URL link does not require your organisation to be approved as a Legal Entity Customer.
